
Prof. dr hab. Michał Post

Associate professor of Wrocław University from July of 1992, Professor in The Philological School of Higher Education in Wrocław from October 2003.
Completed his graduate studies in English philology in June of 1972 at the University of Łódź. In 1978, he received his Ph.D. in the Humanities in the field of English linguistics at the Univerisity of Wrocław and in 1985 he completed his postdoctoral work in the field of English linguistics also at the University of Wrocław.
Academic interests:

relations between syntax and semantics – these problems were the subject of the doctoral thesis entitled Comparatives of Identity in English. A Semantic Study.

lexical semantics: this area of research was explored in the postdoctoral thesis Denominal Adjectivization in Polish and English.

linguistic pragmatics – this field of research is covered in monograph (awaiting publication) concerning evaluative speech acts, perlocutionary acts and effects entitled: “Perlocutionary Effects and Perlocutionary Acts. A Cognitive Pragmatic Study”. It uses for its aim the methods of cognitive linguistics.

the problematics of evaluations and values in language and the linguistic means of their expression – also in this research the methods of cognitive linguistics were used.

Contrastive analysis of Polish and English – this research has been conducted since the beginning of his academic work.
Courses taught:
Prof. dr hab. Michał Post has conducted all practical and linguistic classes mentioned in the curriculum of the English Philology, and in particular – practical grammar, writing, phonetics, descriptive grammar, the history of the English language, monographic lectures, proseminars, BA seminars, MA seminars, specialization courses, courses supplementary to linguistic graduate seminars.
