The final stage of zDolny Ślązak Gimnazjalista competition

Feb. 8, 2006 – The final stage of the English „zDolny Ślązak Gimnezjalista” competition was held in The Philological School of Higher Education, where 21 winners, the best English speakers among Lower Silesian secondary school students, were selected.

The competition is a regional form of supporting talented students and its main aim is to spark interest and develop the skills of secondary school students.

The zDolny Ślązak Gimnazjalista competition was organized by the Lower Silesian chief education officer in cooperation with the Self-government of Lower Silesia, Dolnośląkie Centrum Doskonalenia Nauczycieli i Informacji Pedagogicznej and The Philological School of Higher Education (within the field of English and German language competitions).

Almost 14,000 secondary school students entered the school level Humanities part of the zDolny Gimnazjalista competition, which comprised of English, German and French language competitions. Over 800 qualified to the county level. 60 participants made it to the final of the English language competition, which took place in the Philological School of Higher Education in Wrocław. Among the 60, 21 were prize-winners.

We would like to congratulate the winners and their broad knowledge of the culture of English-speaking countries and their excellent language skills. We wish all participants of the competition good luck and perseverance in the development of their talents.
