Wampiriada 2006

On the 24th of May the school hosted the first Wampiriada, which is a student voluntary blood drive organized by the Student Government with the cooperation of the Independent Association of Students and the Regional Centre for Blood Donations.

We are still facing the problem of blood supply shortages. Large supplies of blood are needed to save lives, which is why WSF students decided to take part in the blood drive. They bravely fought their fear of the needle! Luckily there were no casualties!:)))

Our chancellor, Mr. Richard Opala, gave a fantastic example by being among the first to donate his blood! Many were willing and in the end 37 people donated blood. All blood donors received chocolate to replenish their sugar and free laboratory test results of their blood (blood type, morphology, virus tests). All the participants of Wamiriada were rewarded financially by the Chancellor, Motip Dupli Polska. Sp. Z o. o. and by means of the resources gathered by the main organizer – NZS.

„Wampiriada” took place in 10 colleges and gathered 471 litres of blood and each of the 1048 participants has their own 450 millilitre contribution” – as announced by RCKIK.

In this academic semester we finished our drive in Wrocław schools, but the next was is planned to take place in the fall – the tentative date for WSF is November 21!
