Undergraduate studies in German philology will allow you to acquire knowledge and practical skills connected to learning and teaching German.
Program of studies
The program of studies has been developed on the basis of the experiences of our academic faculty and their familiarity with the latest information technology. Undertaking studies at our college, students are choosing a modern program of studies, which is carried out in specialized thematic modules:
- Practical language – courses in this module develop both written and spoken linguistic competence, enrich vocabulary, and consolidate grammatical knowledge, phonetic systems and written and spoken translations.
- Culture Studies – courses in this module aim to familiarize students with the culture and history of countries of a given linguistic area; more specifically, it will familiarize them with the history of literature, with elements of the history of language, with the problems of European integration, with bilateral cultural relations, and with the research of stereotypes and Lower Silesia studies.
- Communication – courses in this module will help student gain knowledge in the fields of pedagogy, social psychology, sociology, philosophy and interpersonal communication.
- Modern technology – courses in this module allow students to acquire skills connected with using the internet and multimedia in their future jobs as translators and teachers. Students learn how to use dispersed information sources and means of presenting them for the enrichment of the education process.
- Glottodidactics – courses in this module familiarize students with the methods of teaching foreign languages, give the opportunity of gaining knowledge from the field of psychopedagy and give students the opportunity to participate in vocational training.
- Diploma seminar – courses in this module provide knowledge which is necessary for writing and defending the B.A. (licencjat) thesis.
