WSF publications
In May of 2007, the first volume of WSF’s publishing series, Philologica Wratislaviensia: Acta et Studia was published. It was entitled “For the Love of the Embedded Word – in Society, Culture and Education” and was edited by prof. dr. hab. Zdzisław Wąsik and prof. dr hab. Andrzej Ciuk. The editor-in-chief of the whole series is the Rector of WSF - prof. dr hab. Zdzisław Wąsik.
The publishing series is addressed to philology students and scholars/teachers in Poland and is open to publications in the field of philology. The series will contain collective publications and monographs, as well as conference articles. We foresee publishing monographs which will both fill in the gaps and constitute new proposals in the field of academic coursebooks. They will be created in cooperation with authors connected with WSF and also those invited from other academic institutions. The work published in this series will be applicable to academic didactics due to its academic and vocational character. It also serve as a good example of academic writing for WSF students.
The quality of the volumes is guaranteed by the editors (prof. Zdzisław Wąsik, prof. Andrzej Ciuk), and also by the consultants comprising of scholars from various academic institutions, who will evaluate and assess the final product. The choice of the reviewers is dictated by the specialization of the articles and monographs. The collective issues usually have at least two reviewers, and monographs will have one external content reviewer. The first reviewer is always the research editor of the series and the editors of the volume. The opinion of other independent scholars recommending a given article is taken into account in the selection process.
The second volume entitled “Metaphor and Cognition” edited by Zdzisław Wąsik and Tomasz Komendziński has already been compiled and prepared for publishing.
