
Terms of admission - the BA program
Acceptance to the student body of Philological School of Higher Education takes place:
For candidates with a „new maturity exam”
On the basis of the score the student received on the written part of the maturity exam in English (for English philology), in German (for German philology) or any modern foreign language (Spanish philology, written or oral maturity exam). Students who have received at least 75% in the basic part of the exam or the sum of the grades from the basic part and extended level amounts to at least 80% are exempt from the entrance examination.
For candidates of the „old maturity exam”
On the basis of the score received on the written maturity exam in English (for English philology), in German (for German philology) or any modern foreign language (Spanish philology, written or oral maturity exam). Students who have received at least a “good” grade are exempt from the entrance exam.
Acceptance without exam exempt
From the entrance exam are candidates who:
-
received at least 75% on their written basic part of the new matura or a total of 80% in the basic and advanced level from the chosen language (English or German) or any modern language (Spanish Philology, written or oral maturity exam),
-
possess a new maturity certificate in the course language (English or German) or any modern foreign language from a bilingual school or institution,
-
possess an old maturity certificate with a grade no lower than „good” in the written part (written or oral in case of Spanish philology),
-
possess an international maturity certificate (IB) in the course language (English or German philology) or any modern foreign language (Spanish philology),
-
possess any of the following certificates: FCE, CAE, CPE, TEFL, TELC, ZMP, KDS, GDS lub DSD II,
-
are teachers of English, German or any modern language with at least two years work experience,
-
participants of English, German or Spanish Olympiad of at lest regional level,
-
have successfully completed the entrance exams to other studies of an equivalent philological department but were not accepted due to a lack of available seats,
-
have completed the English or German preparatory courses organized by WSF with at least a 4.0,
-
on the basis of a written motion and other documents certifying appropriate linguistic competence in the course language received a decision from the Rector of WSF.
Candidates who do not meet any of the above-listed conditions have to take the entrance examination organized by WSF.
Because of the limited amount of available seats, the order of submitted applications is also decisive.
