Enrollment regulations for the first year of studies in The Philological School of Higher Education in Wrocław
-
Enrollment for the first year of studies in The Philological School of Higher Education in Wrocław (WSF) is dependent on the number of seats per specialization course and is conducted by the WSF Enrollment Commission appointed by the Rector.

Candidates who have submitted the required set documents can apply to the first year in WSF:
-
the maturity certificate (the original or copy),
-
application form (available at the WSF building or on www.wsf.edu.pl),
-
a valid medical certificate stating that there are no medical reasons why the student cannot undertake studies,
-
five photographs in the 30x42mm format,
-
a copy of the identity card (in case of the old identity card, page 1,2,3 and the page with the current place of residence),
-
documents listed in point 3 of these regulations (in case of need),
-
proof of payment of the examination fee (50 zł) transferred to the WSF bank account: 23 1750 1064 0000 0000 0856 4167 (applies only to those candidates who are taking the entrance examination).

Acceptance to the first year of studies of English or German philology will be based on the order of submitted applications. In order to qualify, a candidate has to:
-
took the new maturity exam and obtained at least 75% score in the basic written English or German or whose total score in both basic and extended written exams is at least 80%, or
-
received their maturity certificate in a bilingual school or department, or
-
received an international maturity certificate (IB) in the course language, or
-
have received at least a “good” grade (4.0) in the written part of the “old maturity exam”, or
-
possess certificate of language competence:
-
FCE or CAE or CPE or TOEFL (with a score of at least 50%) or TELC (with a level no lower than B2) – in case of English Philology,
-
ZMP, KDS, GDS Goethe Institute and DSD II – in case of German Philology,
-
-
are teachers or the course language with at least two years of work experience as teachers of that language (appropriate certificate is required), or
-
were participants of at least a regional level Olympiad in the course language (appropriate certificate is required), or
-
successfully passed the preliminary qualification process for admission to another school of the same field of study, but were not accepted due to no available seats (confirmation from that school is required), or
-
have completed the English or German preparatory courses organized by WSF with at least a 4.0, or
-
on the basis of a written motion and other documents certifying appropriate linguistic competence in the course language received a decision from the Rector of WSF.

First year study candidates for Spanish Philology are admitted on the conditions stipulated in point 3 of these regulations in reference to any foreign modern language.

Candidates with a “new matura” and those who do not meet the conditions stipulated in point 3a, may submit a written application for admission to the first year on the basis of a decision of the enrollment committee.

Candidates applying for first year studies through procedure prescribed in point 3-5 of the enrollment regulations are notified in written form about the decision made by the enrollment committee within 14 days of submitting the set of documents listed in point 2.

Candidates with an “old maturity examination”, who do not meet any of the conditions listed in point 3, have to take the entrance examination organized by WSF.

The entrance examination takes the form of a written test on the level of the maturity examination from the course language.

The examination procedure:
-
The head of the WSF enrollment committee sets the minimum criteria by which candidates are accepted to the 1st year of studies in WSF,
-
The committee checks the identity of candidates, before they enter the examination room, on the basis of an identity card,
-
After finding a seat, the candidate receives a piece of paper with an identification number,
-
The duration of the exam is set by the WSF enrollment committee and announced to the candidates before the start of the examination,
-
The committee has the right to remove from the examination room candidates who do not abide by the norms and rules announced by the committee before the start of the exam,
-
After completing the written assignment, but no later than by the end of the examination, the candidate hands in the exam papers.

After the end of the examination, the committee checks the exams and fills out the examination protocols, writing in the grades by the names and identification numbers of the candidates.

The committee will post the list of people who qualified for the 1st year of studies on the basis of the entrance exam results the following working day at 4:00 P.M.. The identification numbers and the exam results will be posted on the school website: www.wsf.edu.pl as well as on the announcement board in WSF.

Upon the candidate’s written request, the head of the board of examiners or another authorized person will inform the candidate of his or her exam results at a agreed upon time.

The candidates have a right to see their written exams only after the entrance exams have concluded and the list of students who qualified is posted. The exams can be reviewed under the supervision of a member of the committee in a designated room.

A candidate reserves the right to appeal the decision made WSF enrollment committee to the rector within 14 days of:
-
receiving the notice mentioned in point 6, or
-
the posting of the list of people who qualified for the first year of studies in accordance with point 11 of the regulations.

Candidates who qualified for the 1st year of studies to The Philological School of Higher Education are accepted after meeting the following formal conditions:
-
signing the agreement for the duration of the studies and submitting it to WSF within 14 days after the list of students accepted to the 1st year is published,
-
paying the entrance fee within the same time as mentioned in point 15a.

The Philological School of Higher Education does not ensure places for candidates who qualified for the 1st year of studies but did not meet the deadlines connected to the requirement mentioned in point 15.

Enrollment regulations for the 2006/2007 academic years comes into force on 4/20/2006.
