Høgskulen på Vestlandet (Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norway) was established on January 1, 2017 as a result of a merger of three former university colleges in Bergen, Sogndal and Haugesund. The HVL is now one of the largest higher education institutions in Norway, with about 16 000 students and 1400 employed in five campuses Førde, Sogndal, Bergen, Stord and Haugesund. The HVL conducts active and broad research activity concentrating on all the fields of the offered programs of studies, such as among other: engineering, science, social science, economy, health, education and teacher training, sports, the arts and many more. The campus in Sogndal and Førde, where the Faculty of Teacher Education, Culture and Sports, who is engaged in the GameIT Project, focus on applied research for the community, thus the institution plays an important role in the social and economic development of the region. The Partner contributes to the GameIT Project not only through the vast know-how and expertise within active and interactive teaching, but also through long experience in practically-oriented and community-focused research activities, internationalization, project participation and management, cooperation with the representatives of the socio-economic environment.
